UNICOM Government, Inc. joins forces with IBM to deliver solutions to Federal, State and Local Agencies

New agreement leverages UNICOM Global’s 30 year partnership with IBM

Herndon, VA – May 28, 2013 – UNICOM® Government, Inc. (UGI), a Division of UNICOM Global (UNICOM) and a leading provider of mission-critical solutions including software, hardware and services to federal and state and local government agencies, announced that it has been approved as an IBM Business Partner Solution Provider. The new agreement between the companies enables UNICOM Government to deliver IBM solutions and services on a broad range of products including IBM Power w/IBM i, Power w/AIX, PowerLinux, PureFlex Systems w/AIX, PureFlex Systems w/IBM I, PureFlex Systems w/PowerLinux, Storage Entry, Storage Enterprise and Storage Midrange products.  The relationship leverages the strength of UNICOM Global’s partnership with IBM throughout commercial industry and reaffirms UNICOM Government’s focus on bringing the broadest range of solutions to its customers.

The range of products spans several architectures and solutions, including the IBM PureFlex System, which provides integrated infrastructure to deliver cloud and analytics solutions with leading-edge economies. According to a study by the International Technology Group, the IBM PureFlex System features up to 40% energy cost reductions and up to 50% reductions in management costs compared to previous generation solutions. 

The entry into the Solution Provider program, which is effective immediately, continues UNICOM Government’s efforts to enhance and sharpen its focus on the solutions agencies need.  UNICOM Global’s extensive relationship with IBM across all platforms over the last 32 years adds additional value and expertise to the UGI team, enabling deeper reach and capabilities for defense, civilian and state and local government agencies throughout the United States.
